XAT is the test conducted by” XAVIER LABOUR RELATIONS” one of India’s top business schools situated in JAMSHEDPUR. For someone who dreams about carrier in management XAT is for him. XAT stands for “XAVIERS ADMISSION TEST “.It is an entrance exam for getting admission to top business colleges in India like Xavier Institute of Management, Loyal Institute of Management and many more.
XAT SYLLABUS AND PATTERN
Let’s talk about syllabus and pattern of the exam. Basically XAT is a multiple choice exam, one in which you are given four option and you choose one of them. It is a two hour exam covering different categories on which questions are based. These categories include QUANTITATIVE ABILITY, VERBAL ABILITY and COMMUNICATION SKILLS.Moreover there is an essay written that is to be written in 20 minutes after the 2 hour exam.
The exam is divided in two parts:
- Q&A’s – duration 120 minutes
- Essay writing – 20 minutes
No of questions on each section have varied over the years so it is difficult to tell weightage on each category. Generally each category consists of more than 25 questions.
ELIGIBILITY
In order to apply for XAT you must either should have completed your graduation from a government certified/registered university or deemed university .final year degree students can also apply as XAT score is considered valid for one year.

Personnel Management And Industrial Relations – 240
General Management Program – 120 (15 months course)
There are many other institutes nearly more than 60 which offer admission based on XAT score.

REGISTRATION
You can register online for XAT. The online form is available on www.xatonline.net.in.
You will need an e-mail id, if you don’t have then created one. After filling up the required credentials click on submit, you are provided with XAT-ID and PASSWORD send to your e-mail id. Conform it by logging in to your e-mail id. You can latter change password.
A passport size photo is required along with your signature (check out the details from official website mentioned above). You need to upload them.

PAYMENT
A fee is based on category of the candidate
•General Category (open and OBC) – Rs.950
•ST/SC(should submit their caste certificate copy along with the form ) – Rs.650
Payment can be done according to candidates’ convenience. Three modes of payment are available:
•Online payment – candidate can pay through visa or MasterCard, net banking(only for IDBI account holders)
•Cash payment – For cash payment after clicking on the cash payment option, CHALLAN can be downloaded. Submit the challan along with the cash to the nearest IDBI bank.
•Demand Draft – You can also pay through d.d
